The best win by The Mighty Blues for quite some time I reckon.
Backs to the wall, coach under intense pressure, classed as soft, headed for oblivion, but the boys went hell for leather and it was Collingwood who cracked, they even started taking cheap shots.
Great to see some lesser lights step up.
Great first half by Curnow, good game from Collins even allowing for the brain fades, excellent work on Shaw by Armfield, if Army had converted he would have made Shaw look like a pelican, and last but certainly not least Brock McLean.
The cream rises to the top though, Kreuzer was awesome, Judd was Judd, Walks and Eddie sparkled, Gibbs on song, Carratts knocked up getting it as usual, and Chris Yarran, a fortnight after playing like a donkey in the VFL turns on a display worth going miles to see.
Hard to find a bad Carlton player tonight, Go Blues, you f***en beauty!!!!!

Dont forget Doogs he was awesome and led the way early, hitting it hard and delivering.

Doogs gave me a flashback to when Parkin sent Dean Rice forward to reinvent his career.

I didn't forget him Major, but I didn't want go through the whole 22.
Scotto was also good, so were Robbo, Watson and Tuohy.
AJ didn't have a huge influence but he didn't stuff up, and I felt for my old mate Hammer tonight.
He started very well, hitting packs hard and making space for his mates, to be honest I thought we were gone when he was subbed off but Kreuzer came to the party in a big way.

It was a fantastic effort by the boys .
The move of Nick Duigan forward realy surprised everyone and it
was a good move , Nick used to kick goals here in Adelaide .
Weve been very critical of the coach on the forum but you gotta
give credit when credits due . It just goes to show when they wonna
play and play as a team they can beat just about anyone.

Yes the whole side was pretty darn good , McIness isnt any chop imo though.

Hammer going down was a good thing in my book, we cant play 3 rucks and none of them are forwards, Hammer going down made Kreuzer stand up and gave him confidence in he knew his role for once., Notice how our balance was heaps better when he went of and Brock came on and did very well.

Where has that team been hiding? Very Happy
You can't ask anymore than that.
I thought Robbo was outstanding tonight. Sure he missed a shot or two but it's hard to lose when you have a guy smashing every contest like a bulldozer. Problem is that he will probably be smashed up by the time he gets to 150 games! Laughing
Kruezer, Judd and Yarran all played their best games for a while and Mclean played his best game since coming to the club.
Watson is showing some great signs. Hopefully he will improve his passing as his confidence grows.

Buckley and McChins were devastated.
Love it! Very Happy

Well, this season still sucks, but suddenly it sucks a lot less! Very Happy

Beating the filth twice in one season is something to cherish from 2012 at least!
Winning a real scrap, against a top four team, having to sub in the first quarter, Simmo concussed, nearly kicking it away, but rallying to storm home - so much to like about this victory.

Keep this up and we might find we actually have the wood on the Woods.
We're not out of the woods yet (to continue the theme) and neither is Ratts, but it's great for our guys to show that they can play like this after all. Most importantly they now know it, so maybe there will be a few more wins coming up.
To turn the tables on the bummers would be sweet.

Spewing about Hammer - had to be another tall bloke, didn't it? Rolling Eyes
Hopefully it's not too serious.

It was a fantastic effort. At least for one weekend we can push all of our very real problems to the back of our minds. Very happy!

Sarge is da man! He called it! Very Happy
Not only could the pies be as low as 5th after this round but their season could really nose dive from here with the run home that they have.

That would really make me a lot happier about 2012, no matter what happens from here for Carlton! Cool

Amazing what happens when sides don't tag our best midfielders.... collingwood arrogance.

We are far from being back but we have not had much to cheer about lately.

It is clear that hendo must go forward when he gets back.

Thanks mate! More of a lucky call. But gee it was huge just being there. Seeing the kms that Curnow and McLean ran for the night to reach contest after contest was huge. Would say they ran an extra 2-3 kms this more than their previous best. For mine Brock should have been given bog. Very Greg Williams like game to see his background work that doesn't show on tv. Huge!

One to tell the grandkids about mate! Very Happy
I am spewing because I had this game pegged earlier in the year to take my son over for his first MCG game because I knew in advance that it fell in my week off work.
But..... with the recent run of form I thought the money could be better spent.

My own fault.
That is the sort of stirring, hard-arse win I have been yearning for and I missed it.

That will teach me! Laughing

So what happens now? is ratten safe again?

Only problem is injuries and conditioning?

Read a transcript of ratten's post game press conf - the bloke reels off more cliches than any human I've ever heard that wasn't a comedian.

If he coaches next year then the club deserves it's misery.

I still don't think we have the right man for the job, but that will be taken care of at the end of the year.
Not much credibility behind winning against the pies if you can't win a premiership.
Changes still need to be made to all departments.
But let's just enjoy what was a great win. Very Happy
