Have we got it all wrong fitness wise?
Essendon, Adelaide etc bulked up massively and reaped the rewards.
Our games is a fast paced spread about getting it outside to our runners.
With the game going back more so to contested footy, did we get it wrong through the pre season? |
Nothing wrong game wise when it's on, but our largest problem is skills. If you kick and handball poorly the next possession is under more pressure. This is our game of footy. When we were on song in the first 5 games, our confidence was up and we were hitting targets at will whih created time and space and as a result a more accurate disposal.
The only time our game plan is attacked and questioned for a predictable 'plan b' response is when the players let themselves and team mates down with poor disposal.
Playing Joseph, Bower, Ellard and Armfield at the same time is always going to test this area. Throw in Judd, Robinson and Walker's sometimes questionable kicking and you can see how this team is going to find it hard to execute any game plan, let alone Ratten's. _________________ Survey says: Bup bow |

I'm not saying Ratten is untouchable, I'm saying that all areas need to be looked at to improve the club, If Ratten is given his marching orders and he is the only one replaced while their are still problems down the line, the sore will fester again be it 2 yrs down the track or 5. Lets go through evey department and see what can be fixed or at least be improved
Rattens only string of consistant performances with the way the team is playing has been the the last 6 weeks.
The next 12 weeks will show the mettle of our club, do we settle for a mediocre finish to the season and accept what has happened or do we rattle the cage and rebuild our empire |
Agreed, as I have said elsewhere, Riley and Sticks need to be down the road as well.
The review should go through the place like a dose of salts.
A new coach, whoever it is, will bring sweeping changes.
Also time for Swann to show some leadership too.
The whole place has gone very stale with a she'll be right attitude.
This won't just turn around sometime in the next couple of weeks as Ratten suggests.
The lack of skills is not a new thing, it's just that the group as a whole was playing well enough before to cover it up.
I think the fact that we have so many high draft picks has brought about this feeling that number 17 is just a formality.
An outsider coach is needed to sharpen the place up. _________________ 2013 - No Excuses!!!! |
