He was given 5 weeks - did you guys miss this? His clean record for years and had it reduced. Nothing to do with being a Collingwood player.
It goes both ways, Waite has been lucky time and again. _________________ Survey says: Bup bow |

The fact they rated that as "reckless" is the biggest farce. That was intentional to cause harm! I'm sorry but which ever way I look at it - 5 weeks with 2 for good behaviour is a disgrace. That incident does not warrant 3 in anyone's language. Sell it as you like.
I find it fascinating that he accepted the charge as soon as it was announced as well. _________________ theblueview ..... Really is home. |

Guys lets not be too one eyed here.
He got 5 weeks. Which is probably what it was worth. His good record got it reduced. Whether you agree with that system or not is a separate argument. The verdict handed down in terms of the assessment of the incident was fair enough. |

Yeah, if he was one of our blokes, I'd be pretty shocked if he copped the full five weeks, when he'd had a clean record previously.
It's just disappointing to have lost Simmo for longer - could be as long as six weeks now, apparently. _________________ Blues... it's a way of life. |

You can slice it any which way you like.
The fact remains that it was
a) deliberate/intentional
b) head high contact
c) done with the elbow raised at the point of impact
d) was never looking at the ball at any stage of the contest (refer to a)
e) caused serious injury to the victim
f) will result in the victim missing several weeks
Three weeks for a deliberate act is as shit as what the act itself was.
Gutless act and even more gutless penalty. _________________ 2013 - No Excuses!!!! |

Yes he got 5 weeks, but one year of his ''five year clean record'' was spent on the rookie list in the VFL! Is that really fair given that he wasn't even eligible to play at the time? _________________ CAR17ON |

You can still get reported in the VFL. |

So theoretically Mitchell and Casboult will have '5 year clean records' in three years time, even though they're yet to go near the senior team. I understand it but it's a joke. _________________ CAR17ON |

If they don't get reported then Yes. If someone belts the shit out of people in the VFL, should they then also have a 'clean record' when they smash someone in the seniors because they were never suspended in the AFL prior to that?
It's a two way street. |
